Welcome to the website of the Wigan Transport Trust. Here you’ll find details of and links to the Trust’s activities and collection. The Trust’s aims are the preservation, restoration and display of Wigan’s road public transport history, the focus being the period up to 1974 before the area was absorbed in to the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive. We do this by restoring our vehicles and displaying them at rallies, running days and similar events.
Forthcoming attractions 2017:
On Sunday 4 June we will be taking Scania 1051 to the North West Vehicle Restoration Trust’s running day at Kirkby.
Sunday 18 June we will be off to the Peak Park Preserved Bus Gathering at Peak Rail’s Rowsley South station.
